Devils, Kangaroos and Tessellation on Tasman Peninsula

The Tasman Peninsula is a nature filled day trip from Hobart, Tasmania (Australia) – wildlife, rugged cliff coastline, beaches, and blowholes.

A few of our favorites:

  • Dunalley Bay at lowtide is fascinating! We stopped there first thing, then returned at the end of the day for a lovely, lingering sunset.
  • We were intrigued by the Tessellated Pavement near Eaglehawk Neck – a shoreline where the rocks and terracing looks man-made, but it’s not! The crevices are loaded with shells, seaweed, and tidepool critters. Perfect place for a mermaid to pick up a few new baubles.
  • Mixed review of the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo, but the quality time with kangaroos in a huge open field was a first for us.
