St. Lucia, St. Vincent, The Grenadines, Grenada – SCUBA, bareboat sailing, beaches!
UPDATE: We’re home and working on our stories, photos and videos, especially from SCUBA diving 🙂
First Story!
Our next bareboat sailing adventure is in April
We’re really looking forward to the clear warm waters of the eastern Caribbean: bareboat sailing, beaches, the Pitons, snorkeling and SCUBA diving! There are three phases of this trip:
St. Lucia – Romance and Adventure!
Share your experiences with us! The two of us have a week+ to explore St. Lucia from the Castries area before joining our friends, then a few more days to enjoy the island as a group before sailing. Ideas for dive spots, dive companies (on St. Lucia only), snorkel spots, great hikes, waterfalls, volcanic beaches, various activities and restaurants ranging from beach bars to fine dining. Â What’s on your “Don’t miss!” list?
St. Vincent & The Grenadines (1 Nation) – Bareboat Sailing +
With four chartered catamarans and 33 friends we’re setting sail from St. Lucia! Here are some of the areas we’ll visit. We’ve chosen our dive companies for during sailing (Bequia and Tobago Cays) and a few restaurants, but we’d love to know your suggestions. Where did you love?
- St. Lucia – Rodney Bay, Marigot Bay, Pitons
- St. Vincent – Petit Byahaut and the active volcano La Soufrière
- Grenadines – Bequia (Admiralty Bay), Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Union Island, Sandy Island, Carriacou
- Grenada – Dragon Bay, St. Georges
Grenada, the Spice Isle – SCUBA and ???
We have an extra 6 days on Grenada and we’ve chosen a small resort on Grand Anse Beach with a great SCUBA diving package. Nothing else is planned yet, so bring on your suggestions, please!

I will be docking in Castries, St. Lucia and St. George’s, Grenada for a day. Which is the best place to dive, if I only choose one location? I have dove the Underwater Sculpture Garden before in Granada, but would like to explore other dive sites.
Hi Julee, The diving was quite good everywhere we went on our sailing trip in the southern West Indies. For us, the best experience was on Bequia (Dive Bequia in the Grenadines), beautiful and colorful (story at https://romancingtheglobetravelblog.com/bequia-diving/ ) We had wonderful dives in Grenada (with Dive Grenada). As you know, the sculpture park is fun and interesting but not representative of all the cool fish and coral in the area. We’ll post a story about specific Grenada dive sites soon. The island of St. Lucia had decent diving out of Gros Islet – due to weather conditions at the time, we had a long boat ride to the Pitons area to reach the dive sites. Tobago Cays (also in the Grenadines) was also quite good (story at https://romancingtheglobetravelblog.com/tobago-cays-scuba/ ). We hope you have a fabulous time!!
