Do you have to be naked to go barebutt sailing? Oops, I mean bareboat! Maaaybe – bareboat sailing means that you or a close friend is certified and skilled enough in sailing prowess that your group can charter a sailboat on your own without hiring a local professional skipper. You sail wherever you want…

Bora Bora, Tahiti, Huahine, Raiatea…French Polynesia…few places sound more romantic –bringing to mind beautiful waters with every possible shade of blue, palm trees, grass skirts, ukuleles, tropical drinks, huge smiles, dramatic scenery, and lots of hand holding opportunities. No reason to adjust that perception – it’s all true!

UPDATE: We’re home and working on our stories, photos and videos, especially from SCUBA diving 🙂 Our next bareboat sailing adventure will be in St. Lucia, St. Vincent and The Grenadines! Looking forward to sailing, beaches, clear warm waters, snorkeling and SCUBA diving! We’d love your suggestions! Here are some of the areas we’ll visit:

So, when we “Get a Room”, what kind of room attracts us? Well, there are quite a few styles that make us happy and it really depends on the situation. We prefer charm, character and local flavor over standardization, but there are places where the comforts of a known property are welcome.
